Alexandra Thompson is an assistant news editor, focused on health. She has a BSc biology degree from the University of Leeds. She has worked as a health reporter at Yahoo News and MailOnline, as well as an investigative reporter at BioPharm Insight, previously owned by the Financial Times. She has also worked as a freelance health journalist, published in The Mail on Sunday. In 2015 she won Best Healthcare Professional Journalist of the year at the Johnson & Johnson awards. She was also shortlisted for Feature of the Year (general audience) at the 2019 Medical Journalists' Association awards.
